I forgot some time ago to talk about technology so here goes has anyone been to Second Life yet? It's a virtual world where you can pretend to be someone or thing you're not (if you're lucky you may even be able to have an avatar that looks like a blobfish) and wander around doing stuff. At the moment it is fairly rubbish to be honest but it does have a lot of potential once the hardware and bandwidth measure up. Keep an eye on it and look out for the blobfish.
Anyway, it is time for this blobfish to return to the depths of Bass Strait and continue the easy life of floating around like a gelatinous mass. I have enjoyed my stay on this blog especially looking at You Tube. I'm sure a lot of this stuff will prove useful over time and some of it has already. Farewell. For Now.

#22 E-Books
Project Gutenberg is a laudable attempt to make the classics available online to read and now to listen. They have this weird robot like voice that reads the books but I suppose you get used to it and I have met people (but not blobfish) who speak just like that.
Podcasts
Podcasting (#21) has passed me by, after spending 4 hours a night looking at You Tube videos when do you have the time to listen to podcasts eh? Still I have had a look at various podcast search engines and found a history podcast to add to my bloglines account. I doubt I will ever listen to it though, maybe they could make a video and post it on Youtube...

Blobfish take over Youtube
You have to love You Tube (#20) and we blobfish do. Check out a piece of experimental blobfish art from the site!
It's not all work, work, work for us blobs. We like to kick back and relax as much as the next species. To prove it heres a picture of me and the lads after a hard night on the tiles looking a bit worse for wear though I like to think our natural good looks happy go lucky personality still shine through.
When not painting the town red we also like to play around on our PC. Heres a new fangled game which is currently hot on the blob gaming scene. It's from a site which won a prize in the WEB 2.0 awards (#19) and as you can see is real, bleeding edge stuff. Hope you enjoy it.

blobblog #18
Todays blog is being written on Zoho Writer a free on-line Office Suite which loosens, just a little, the iron grip of the Microsoft Empire. I would also reccommend downloading Open Office 2.0 which is a free replacement for MS Office and works just as well.

WikiBlob (# 16 & #17)
Wikis are great. Wikipedia is great although their Blobfish entry is a little on the small side for such fascinating creatures: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blobfish.
Wikipedia will tell you anything about anything and most of it is true.
Incidentally, don't get Wikis mixed up with Kiwis, if you don't know the difference just consult the fountain of all knowledge!:
