Blobfish take over the world..

Blobfish don't read much, the pages get too wet, but almost without exception our favourite book is "The War with the Newts". This little know book written by a great visionary in the 1930's is about a little known sea animal lurking in the oceans which, by exploiting the complete stupidity of humanity slowly takes over the world. This idea resonates very deeply with us blobfish and we look forward to the day when we have a wonderful watery, salty world to play in, a world without the fishing industry! Or any industry at all for that matter. A great start to this is the increasing number of desalination plants being built on (currently) dry land across the world. By using huge amounts of energy to increase global warming these wonderful inventions are hastening the day when the antartic ice starts to melt, coastlines retreat and we blobfish have more room to roam. We blobs live in the Bass Strait between Victoria and Tasmania in Australia so we were particularly glad to see a new desalination plant being built on the Victorian coast near our own stamping ground, of course it's likely to harm the ecosystem around the coastline and harm populations of a few coastal dwelling sea creatures, but being deep sea bottom dwellers far from shore we don't really care about those wimpy "coasties" anyway so thank you Mr. Bracks and Mr. Brumby - bring it on!

It's election time and we blobfish have already launched our campaign. Billboards are up in all the major cities and oceans of Australia. We have a strong policy platform of throwing money at everything and everyone (especially everyone in marginal seats) and promising anything that will get us a few votes. Watch this space for more exciting policy announcements based on empty promises and bribery!
